Look into the mirror and ask yourself, who is that? What did that person do today? What are his thoughts and feelings about what he saw in the mirror? When you look into a mirror, does anything feel out of place or distorted? The above mentioned questions might sound a little silly at first. But, when you think about it for a little bit longer, they might make your heart filled with joy. Every person has the potential to make those questions their own. Furthermore, those questions can help those people grow as professionals as well as human beings. It is only with these types of questions that one's life will start to take on meaning and purpose. Yaari Mere Yaar Ki Hai is a movie that tries to tell a story about a celebrity. It is a story about a man who gets lost in the race of getting famous. Now, I would like to clarify – this is not a story about people losing themselves to money and fame. This film is only trying to convey the idea of telling your own story, without anyone else making it for you. When someone looks at someone else and sees himself, they quickly see how beautiful their life can be. The more people look at them, the more beautiful their life becomes. It is only with this kind of approach that we can live a fulfilled life, and it is with this sort of attitude that we will feel proud to be ourselves. I won't go into further details about the movie as I don't want it to overshadow what is said in the above paragraph. But, what the film does portray so well is, "What's important about life is not how much you have but how you use what you have." This directorial debut by Anurag Kashyap has got a whopping A+ rating from me. For me, this film was a treat to watch. This movie has got a lot of visuals and a lot of music. It is a story about a man who is trying to show the world how big his dreams are. But, in the process, he forgets about what's important in life. He starts to lose the plot and loses the plot just when everything goes well for him. The director suits such an imagery with such perfectly composed music that it makes this film an out-and-out visual treat. The deft editing and poignant music might even make you teary-eyed at times, so watch out! At no point do we feel like we are watching a documentary or some sort of social awareness campaign on celluloid. A lot of hard work has gone into making sure that the story is translated with utmost perfection. The film has one of the most intelligent scripts I have ever seen. The director even makes sure to imbibe his narrative technique in the film so he never drags on any scene unnecessarily. It is no wonder that the script is great because it was adapted by its director, Anurag Kashyap. The screenplay has got all the elements that make an average Bollywood movie work - there are some funny moments; some touching moments; some heart-warming moments; tears; and fist-pumping action. cfa1e77820
